Since her debut performance of the Haydn Cello Concerto in C Major with the Daegu Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of 14, Hyojin Lee has appeared as an active soloist and chamber musician in Europe, Asia, and the United States. Dr. Lee has appeared as a soloist with orchestras such as the Slovak Košice National Philharmonic, Hungary Savaria Symphony, Soli Deo Orchestra, Kyungbook Symphony, Keimyung University Orchestra, and Multimedia Art Ensemble ARS among many others, performing the Dvorak, Beethoven, and Haydn concertos and contemporary works. She has given solo and chamber recitals at venues including the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and Bruno Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center in New York City.

Hyojin Lee has served as principal cellist of the Bravura Philharmonic Orchestra, Indiana Concert Orchestra, Daegu Contemporary Music Orchestra, and Opera House Orchestra in South Korea. She won multiple prizes innational and international competitions including the National Music Competition sponsored by the TBC Broadcasting Corporation, National Youth Competition sponsored by Keimyung University, and Jinhae Goonhang Music Festival Competition in South Korea. Ms. Lee was a recipient of the Dean’s Music Merit Scholarship at Indiana University, where she received her Master of Music degree and Performer’s Diploma. She holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Rutgers University, where she was awarded a Graduate Fellowship with full scholarship and stipend. Among her teachers and major influences are prominent cellists Janos Starker, Csaba Onczay, Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, Jonathan Spitz, and Kazimierz M. Michalik. She has participated in numerous master classes with such artists as Gary Hoffman, Julius Berger, Werner Thomas-Mifune, and Timothy Eddy, as well as festivals in Europe including the Mozarteum Music Festival (Austria) and Zagan Music Academy (Poland).

A strong advocate of contemporary music, Ms. Lee has premiered works by composers including Eunshil Kwon, Gregory Kim, and Jaman Koo. Equally enthusiastic about early music, she has explored baroque cello and presented chamber recitals on period instruments.

Evelyn Chao, 13 years old, attends Churchill Junior High School in East Brunswick. Evelyn started violin as a nine-year-old. She is presently taking lessons under Yousun Kim, who has helped her realize the depths of violin playing. She has been a member of the Middle School All-State Orchestra for the past three years.

Verna Chen is a 16-year-old violinist from Holmdel, NJ. She is a sophomore at High Technology High School, and is currently studying with Dr. Gary Kosloski in Manhattan, NY. Verna not only has a great passion for music, but she is fascinated by science and technology as well. She is very excited to be part of the Bravura Youth violin virtuoso ensemble!

Kara Lui lives in Marlboro, New Jersey and is a junior at High Technology High School. She is a violin student of Yousun Kim. Kara enjoys playing the violin in the Bravura Youth Orchestra, at volunteer senior center performances, in her school's pit band, and at elementary schools where she encourages children to learn music. Kara swims competitively and loves to perform and teach Chinese dance.

Christopher Pan is a sophomore at West Windsor Plainsboro High School North. He is a violin student of Huayi Wang. He is a member of his school’s orchestra, Studio Jazz band, andBravura Youth Orchestra. Christopher also plays piano and does music composition.

Michael Shen is a junior at East Brunswick High School. He is a student of Brennan Sweet. Michael has performed in the Weill Recital Hall of Carnegie as a result of the competitions his Bravura chamber group has won. Michael is avid in robotics and has received national awards in the area.

Navya Sinha is a Junior attending Bridgewater-Raritan High School and is the Concertmaster of her school’s Honors Symphony Orchestra. She is currently studying violin under Yousun Kim. Beyond her passion for music, she loves to oil paint and debate!

Lauren Szeto is a junior in high school with a strong passion for music and has been playing the violin for nine years. She is from Middletown, New Jersey, is homeschooled, and studies violin with Judith Morse. She has been a member of the Bravura Youth Orchestra for five years and has participated in the Central Jersey Region Orchestra and the New Jersey All-State Orchestra. When she is not playing violin, Lauren also enjoys songwriting, dancing, and above all, listening to music.

Tyler Wu, leader of the ensemble, is a junior at Watchung Hills Regional High School. Tyler has been studying violin under Mr. Huayi Wang for five years. He has been a member of the NJMEA All-State Orchestra throughout middle school and high school. Tyler enjoys swimming.

Sydney Yan is the student president of the Bravura Youth Orchestra. She is from Holmdel and is a junior in the BioTech High School. Sydney is attending the pre-college division of the Manhattan School of Music.

Hua-Yi Wanggraduated from the Central Conservatory in Beijing. He was a child prodigy and studied violin, chamber music, and composition under the world-renowned Maestro Ma Si Cong. He gave numerous solo recitals and was the Concertmaster of the Central Conservatory Orchestra. Wang graduated with outstanding achievements and became the understudy of the Concertmaster of the National Philharmonic Orchestra. Wang came to the United States in 1985. A highly respected and dedicated teacher for the last 30 years, Mr. Wang is a resident of New Jersey. His students have been selected for the New Jersey All State, All Eastern, and All National Orchestras. His brilliant teaching style has been recognized by the Music Teacher National Association (MTNA) and the National Association for Music Education.
