   We would like to announce the 2nd Young Artists Competition for the newly formed Bravura Philharmonic
   Orchestra. It will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2009, at the Jacobs Music Center in Lawrenceville,
   New Jersey. The concert featuring the winners will be held on a Sunday in June of 2009.

 Young Artists Concerto Competition 2008


   The 1st Young Artist Concerto Competition for 2008 was held under the direction of Shirley Yang and Tomoko
   Harada. Three judges, Dr. Hsiao-Hung Hsu, Chiu-Tze Lin, and Sylvie Webb, heard performances of 40
   outstanding young artists competing in the 1st Concerto Competition of the Bravura Philharmonic Orchestra.
   They were extremely impressed with the high level of performances.

   The judges selected three Grand Prize Winners (Gold Medalists) who performed with the orchestra on
   Sunday, May 25, 2008
  (All winners are listed in alphabetical order)

  • Lily Ting-Li Chiu - Violinist - Age 14, Saint-Saens Violin Concerto No. 3, 3rd mvt.
    Emma Schmiedecke - Cello - Age 17, Elgar Cello Concerto, 4th mvt.
    Justin Yeh - Piano - Age 17, Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No.1, 1st mvt.
   Furthermore, two Silver Medalists were selected

    Katelyn Tran - Piano - Age 13, Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 1, 1st mvt.
