History
The newly founded Bravura Philharmonic Orchestra is under the direction of the
internationally-renowned conductor and Steinway Artist Chiu-Tze Lin. It consists of
professional musicians, gifted amateurs, and outstanding young music students. A salient feature of the ensemble is its diverse repertoire, which includes timeless classics, popular Broadway arrangements, and multicultural music. The Bravura Philharmonic Orchestra also consists of numerous chamber groups, such as the strings ensemble, wind ensemble, brass quintet and strings quartet. The Orchestra and its ensembles are available to provide services to the community.
In a short interval since the founding of the Orchestra, the ensembles have already performed for dignitaries such as Senator Hillary Clinton, at the Luminaria Ceremony of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life program, and at various celebration and banquet events.
The Orchestra rehearses on Thursday evenings at the Princeton Alliance Church in Plainsboro, New Jersey. The Orchestra has a strong commitment to young people, having family concerts in February, a Young Artists Concerto Competition, and concerts featuring young people annually. In 2008 the Orchestra will expand to include a Youth Orchestra.
